About Convocation

Dear Graduand,

Convocation 2020 is quickly approaching. While we cannot celebrate at traditional, in-person events due to the global health crisis, AU would like to welcome you, your family, and guests to  a reimagined event to honour the accomplishments of our graduates while respecting health advisories and keeping everyone safe. We hear time and time again how AU has removed barriers to post-secondary learning opportunities, and our graduates are living proof of how AU transforms lives and transforms communities.

This is a profoundly special time of year when we showcase you and your accomplishment. This is a particularly notable year because in 2020, we are also celebrating our 50th anniversary of delivering high-quality, accessible, education to learners like you across Canada and around the globe. Whether this is the culmination of your educational journey or the first step on a new pathway, our entire Athabasca University community is cheering you on as we celebrate this significant milestone.

We invite you to join us to celebrate your achievement in a new and inventive way, acknowledging the dedication and commitment you have demonstrated in reaching your educational goals with your family, friends, and colleagues.

There are no limits to learning and growth, and congratulations are well-deserved. We hope you will be able to participate in our reimagined convocation to celebrate your success, and to mark AU’s 50 years of supporting and celebrating our learners.
